Under Section 553.71(7), Florida Statutes, a threshold building is any building greater than three stories or more than 50 feet in height, or with an assembly occupancy exceeding 5,000 square feet. These buildings require a licensed threshold inspector by law.

A licensed threshold inspector must be present on-site during all threshold structural work — concrete pours, post-tensioning, structural steel erection — to verify compliance with approved structural documents and the Florida Building Code.
