Frequently Asked Questions

What is a private provider?

A private provider is a licensed engineer, architect, or certified inspector authorized under Florida Statute 553.791 to perform building code inspections and plan reviews as an alternative to local government building departments.

Is a private provider inspection accepted by the building department?

Yes. Florida law requires local building departments to accept plans reviewed and inspections performed by qualified private providers. The private provider submits all documentation directly to the building official.

How much do private provider services cost?

Costs vary depending on the scope and complexity of your project. In many cases, the faster turnaround and reduced delays make private provider services more cost-effective than waiting for government inspections. Contact us for a free quote.

How long does a plan review take?

Our average turnaround for plan reviews is 3-5 business days, compared to 2-6 weeks through most local building departments. Expedited reviews are available for time-sensitive projects.

What areas of Florida do you serve?

We serve the entire state of Florida, all 67 counties. Our team is based in South Florida but regularly performs inspections and plan reviews statewide.

Do I still need to get a building permit?

Yes. A private provider does not replace the building permit process. You still obtain your permit from the local building department. The private provider performs the plan review and/or inspections that would otherwise be done by the building department.

Still Have Questions?
